After almost a year I have a website again, that’s cool! I’ve had an incredibly busy, incredibly outdoors summer.
Some things that are going on:
NEW WORKSHOP SEASON!
Three very exciting new offerings will be scheduled sometime between November of this year and January-February of next year (As a non-christian I treat December as a black hole for scheduling where I chill and do crafts while I wait for people to be done with The Holidays). I am most hype that I have actual office space to borrow this year, and so will be able to host classes on good wifi indoors.
FAT HERBALISM will be a review of herbalism topics where weight/body size do not affect dosages and decision making; and a deep dive into how blood volume and body composition can affect dosages and decision making.
COMPLEX NEUROLOGICAL CASES AND CLINICAL HERBALISM will be a deep dive into working with clients who are experiencing neurological issues. It covers clinical skills for working with people who may be struggling with communication and memory; a roundup of how contextual factors like environmental exposure and substance use may affect neurological symptoms in detail; and approaches for working with clients through stabilization, assessment and problem solving, and long-term healing.
annnd finally:
HERBAL HARM REDUCTION – REDUX!
The multi-model multi-modality beast is back and this time, it will be an asynchronous course with prerecorded lectures and live homework/office hour nights. Based on the feedback from the initial session in 2023 (jesus, has it been that long?), the format this time is basically an inversion of the previous one: Rather than having out-of-lecture work take place in text in a student chat server, lectures will be more easily available for students to view in their own time, and practice case assessments and discussion will take place collaboratively in online meetings.
Content will be roughly the same with a few adjustments (because there’s always a few adjustments).
Other Shit I’m Up To
Life is weird! I’m an herb farmer now, helping to run Lightning Gap. I’ll spare you the sales pitch. We make tinctures to try to make money to try to free up time and resources for more fun and helpful stuff.
This summer we got a good ways into our first-ever timberframe–jury is still out on if I’ll live in a tiny house this winter or back to tent life, but either way, things are looking up living situation wise. We have potable water at home now!
I also have some cool medicine & body-care making projects in the works that I’ll hopefully post some interesting things about later.
That’s what I got for right now, Hi, Hope things are good with you.
