As I rebuild my web presence, I’m excited to announce that I have a shiny new way to view and attend available workshops!
While we’ve made do, tech access has really hampered my ability to offer multi-module courses or well-organized resource packets to go along with course offerings. I’ve looked into several options for education-oriented FOSS (free & open source software), but most course management software has too many whistles and bells. I settled on using dokuwiki, an open-source Wiki software, to organize my classes from now on. I’m very excited: the wiki format lends itself very well to content that users can move through intuitively with a minimalist UI and it offers a much more robust user-management and ALC (access list control) system than WordPress; which lets students have individual accounts and permissions for the courses they’d like to take. There’s even some cool features that allow for student work submission :3
I didn’t pay for another domain name (why would I) so you can find that at classes.herbalist-at-large.xyz
